Autumn, Pumpkin Spice, and Everything Nice🍂🎃☕️

Goodbye to the lazy days of summer,

Hello to the busy days of fall,

The air will soon begin to feel crisper,

As everyone gets excited for football.

Students are sitting in their classes,

As the teacher begins, while adjusting her glasses.

“Open your books, it’s time for a refresher!,

Let’s read aloud, one after another.”

Time for change and a new season,

Time for pumpkin spice lattes and sweet caramel apples,

And bouquets of newly sharpened pencils,

For no particular reason.

All around people put on their boots and sweaters,

As birds begin migrating, leaving behind their beautiful feathers.

Fall or autumn, whichever you prefer,

Like summer, it will fly by in only a blur.

While the fresh cool air and colors are nice,

That crisp pleasant air will soon be replaced,

With cold bitter winds, snow, sleet, and ice.

By then Halloween will have passed,

Scary costumes will all be put away,

And the candy will be eaten,

My, that was fast!

By then it will be time for Thanksgiving and Christmas,

Time for family fun, travels, and food,

How delicious!

So enjoy this season while you can,

Enjoy the little things,

And spend time with family,

Because as soon as you blink, it will be Jan.

Make the most of each day,

And make every moment count,

Have faith in God,

And He will show you the way.

    1. It really does seem that way, doesn’t it? Every year seems to go by faster than the year before. I’m having a difficult time believing we are already in the month of September! And thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it, God bless you as well! 🙂

  2. Hey, Angela. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I liked your poem. I live in Manitoba, and we just got dumped on – went from pretty fall colors to Christmas-white overnight. Yikes! But I love that our seasons change. 🙂
