I look at the cinnamon roll pictured above, and I am reminded of life. The swirly shape reminds me of the journey of life itself. We start at the beginning, not knowing where we will end up, not knowing that at the end is the very center; the sweetest part of all. In order to reach the center, we have to keep going, no matter how difficult or challenging life might be.
It is easy to burn cinnamon rolls if you aren’t careful. The same goes for life. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the challenges we face that we allow our lives to reflect feelings of negativity, resentment, hatred, and hostility. If you are allowing and trusting God to lead you in your journey with an attitude of positivity, then your life will reflect this. If you are constantly trying to be in control of everything and living a life of negativity, your life will also reflect this.
The golden color of the cinnamon roll represents the presence of God in your life. The cinnamon sugar filling in the middle represents the sweet feeling of joy and happiness when we seek God amidst our struggles. When we choose to live for Christ, only then will we experience such sweetness. The icing represents the outpour of love and goodness that will overflow and reach others the more we choose faith above everything else. The rich center of the cinnamon roll represents heaven and all of the treasures that are waiting for those who choose a life dedicated to Christ.
I personally needed this reminder today. I am not perfect, I have flaws, I struggle, and I sometimes find myself going in a downward spiral. Thank goodness I have God to get me back on track!
